Mickey Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Magic Kingdom

Halloween starts in summer, right? Well, in Florida it absolutely does. This year’s spooktacular runs on select nights from 15 August to 31 October 2025. So yes, your Mickey bat ears will be melting by the third candy trail, but it’s worth it. Here’s the breakdown of the party dates announced:

2025 Dates and Entry Details

  • August: 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29
  • September: 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, 30
  • October: 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30, 31

Party hours are from 7:00 PM to midnight, but here’s the trick (or treat): guests with a party ticket can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM. That gives you up to eight hours in the park on a party night, without needing a regular day ticket.

Tickets start around $119 and go up to $229 depending on the date. The closer you get to Halloween, the higher the price. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can save around $10 on select nights in August and September.

Tickets go on sale to Passholders and DVC members from 15 May, with general sales opening 22 May, and trust us, dates do sell out. We highly recommend grabbing yours early, we recommend using AttractionTickets.com for trusted delivery and bundled offers. They offer the ability to book well in advance, which is handy when the most popular dates start vanishing quicker than a ghost at sunrise.

Trick-or-Treat Trails & Ride Overlays – A Haunting Good Time

Trick-or-treating here isn’t just for the kids, it’s a full on candy quest through the park. You’ll hit over a dozen stops, each dishing out chocolatey treasure. Adults get candy too, make use of your treat bag as there is no limit to the number of times you can visit each treat stop.

For those with allergies or food restrictions, Disney provides a teal token system. Just collect tokens at the treat stations and exchange them for allergy-friendly goodies. Bonus: they usually throw in some super-rare snacks you can’t find elsewhere.

What’s New and Returning for 2025

This is where the party really shines. Character meet-and-greets at MNSSHP are legendary, and 2025’s lineup is shaping up to be the best yet. This year, Disney is adding more magic and mischief with new and returning favourites:

  • Jack Skellington has received a full character makeover with a more lifelike appearance and updated movements. He’ll be meeting guests alongside Sally in a newly themed area that leans heavily into Halloween Town vibes.
  • Mickey & Minnie will appear together in matching Halloween outfits at Town Square Theater.
  • Winnie the Pooh and friends return in their adorable autumn costumes.
  • Alice, Mad Hatter, the Tweedles and even the Queen of hearts return by the Mad Tea Party
  • Villains like Jafar, Maleficent, and the Evil Queen lurking in Liberty Square and Adventureland
  • Trick-or-treat locations have increased, with over a dozen candy trails throughout all six lands of the park. Allergy-friendly options return, using the teal token system.

Here’s a top tip: Don’t waste time waiting for every character. Pick 2-3 rare ones you really want and check the My Disney Experience app for meet times and locations.

Whether you’re a foodie, thrill-seeker, or hardcore character hunter, this year’s party has something for everyone. Even the entertainment has been given a little extra polish—more on that below!

Attractions with a Halloween Twist

And then, there’s the rides. Some of them put on their Halloween best just for party nights:

  • Space Mountain: Lights out and spooky soundtracks turn this into a thrilling plunge through pitch black. It’s disorienting in the best way possible.
  • Mad Tea Party: Bright lighting effects and party music give the teacups a Halloween remix. It’s groovy and disorienting, especially after a churro.
  • Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor: New Halloween-themed jokes and interactions. This one’s a sleeper hit for families.
  • Haunted Mansion: Well, that’s always scary-good, but cast members pull out their ghostly A-game.

You can also enjoy headliner rides like Big Thunder Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Jungle Cruise, and Pirates of the Caribbean and Tron Lightcycle / Run with much shorter wait times.

Can’t-Miss Character Meet-and-Greets

Character appearances are one of the party’s biggest draws:

  • Jack Skellington and Sally are always the most popular. Their updated looks for 2025 will make this a top priority for many fans.
  • Mickey & Minnie in their Halloween costumes (Town Square Theater)
  • Winnie the Pooh and friends in costume (near The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh)
  • Villains sightings throughout the park, including the Queen of Hearts, Jafar, Cruella, and Maleficent.
  • Pirates and ghosts interacting near Pirates of the Caribbean.
  • Rare appearances from characters like the Tweedles, Stitch as Elvis, and even Pain & Panic if you’re lucky.

Tip: These queues build fast. Get in line before the party officially starts to beat the rush. Don’t try to meet everyone—pick your top three and plan around parade or showtimes.

Spooky Snacks and Devilishly Good Treats

Look, we’re not saying the food alone is worth the price of admission… but the food alone might be worth the price of admission. Disney chefs have whipped up exclusive snacks for the party: Here are some confirmed and rumoured 2025 delights:

  • Madame Leota Candle Cake: Red velvet cake with cookies and cream mousse.
  • Pumpkin Cheesecake Tart: Pumpkin-flavoured cheesecake on a graham cracker crust, shaped like Mickey.
  • Braised Short Rib: Served with purple potatoes and a red wine fig glaze.
  • In addition to the feature foods, you’ll also find:
  • Glow-in-the-dark drink sippers
  • Specialty popcorn buckets themed to Mickey pumpkins or spooky characters
  • Candy apples, mummy cupcakes, and churros dusted in pumpkin spice sugar

The best plan? Try a treat in each land. Your taste buds and Instagram feed will thank you.

Boo to You Parade Mickey Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Magic Kingdom

The Shows: Parades, Fireworks & Villainy

Boo-To-You Parade

Don’t miss the Headless Horseman galloping down the parade route to kick things off. It’s both spine-tingling and oddly charming. The parade itself is a delight of haunted floats, costumed characters, and even gravediggers with sparking shovels.

A fan-favourite, led by the Headless Horseman himself. Parade times are usually 8:15 PM and 11:15 PM, with multiple prime viewing spots.

Want the best view? Main Street offers stunning backdrops, but Liberty Square and Frontierland are great for smaller crowds. You’ll spot classic characters like the Hitchhiking Ghosts, Ballroom Dancers, and even Clarabelle Cow in full Halloween flair.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

The Sanderson Sisters take over the Castle Stage with a musical villain party. Expect appearances from Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, Maleficent, and more. The show plays multiple times, typically before and after the fireworks.

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular

A stunning fireworks and projection show hosted by Jack Skellington, with appearances from Zero, Mickey, and friends. Cinderella Castle transforms into a haunted house, and the sky explodes with colour and themed pyrotechnics.  Fireworks are usually around 10:15 PM.

Dance Parties

Two to choose from:

  • Disney Junior Jam: Great for younger guests. Look for Vamperina, Doc McStuffins, and Timon.
  • Z-O-M-B-I-E-S Bash at Rockettower Plaza: An all-ages dance zone with music from the Disney Channel hits.

Costume Guidelines: What to Wear (and What Not To)

Here’s the simple version of Disney’s costume rules:

YES:

  • DisneyBounding or full costumes (family-friendly)
  • Light face paint (your eyes must remain visible)
  • Props that are safe and not sharp
  • Accessories like glowing headbands, tutus, and capes (waist-length)

NO:

  • Masks for guests over 14
  • Floor-length capes or costumes that drag
  • Realistic weapons
  • Anything gory, violent, or inappropriate for a family setting

Plan your look around comfort, especially your shoes. You’ll be walking and dancing a lot, and even the Evil Queen needs arch support.

Meet and Greet Mickey Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Magic Kingdom

Rainy Night at the Party?

Central Florida weather can be… dramatic. In the event of heavy rain or lightning:

  • Outdoor shows may be cancelled or rescheduled
  • Trick-or-treat trails and indoor attractions will remain open
  • Bring a poncho or lightweight jacket just in case

Disney doesn’t typically offer refunds, but Guest Relations has been known to offer alternate solutions in severe cases. If weather cuts into your party plans, they may offer a replacement ticket or a one-day park hopper ticket at their discretion.

Rain can sometimes clear the crowds, though, so if you come prepared, you might enjoy quieter lines and even more character time.

Final Tips for a Spellbinding Night

  • Arrive before 4:00 PM to gain entry to Magic Kingdom and make the most of your time
  • Ride big attractions during the first parade or fireworks for shorter queues
  • Use PhotoPass for special Magic Shots available only during the party
  • Bring a cool bag to store your treats (stop those chocolate treats from melting in the Orlando heat).
  • Hydrate! It’s still warm in Florida, even at night.
  • Charge your phone between character pics and mobile treat orders, your battery will vanish faster than Oogie Boogie.

  1. Loved your breakdown of the treat trails! Quick question: Are there any allergy-friendly options available during the trick-or-treating? My little one has a peanut allergy, and we want to ensure they can enjoy the festivities safely

    1. Absolutely! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is very allergy-friendly. Just ask for a teal treat bag when you arrive, it lets Cast Members know about allergies. Instead of candy, your little one will get teal tokens at each treat trail, which can be exchanged at special Allergy Friendly Centers (like at Liberty Square or Main Street) for safe goodies like nut-free chocolate, gummies, or even non-food treats. Cast Members will help find the best options for your child’s needs. Safe and spooky fun all around!
