Why Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2025 Is the Best Event of the Year
It’s officially spooky season at Walt Disney World, which means pumpkins on Main Street, trick-or-treat bags at the ready, and my absolute favourite event of the year—Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2025.
This after-hours party transforms Magic Kingdom into a Halloween haven filled with eerie fun. Think: rare character meet-and-greets (Jack and Sally are a non-negotiable for me and my daughter), the Boo-to-You Parade that will stick in your head for weeks, dazzling fireworks hosted by Jack Skellington himself, and exclusive snacks that make me wish pumpkin spice season never ended.
Before we get spooky, make sure you check out our fan favourite planning guides: our Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Lightning Lane strategy, Rope Drop master plan, the Magic Kingdom essentials page, and our MagicBand 101.
Let’s jump in, because there’s a lot of spooky magic to cover.

Party Hours and Early Entry
- Official time: 7:00 PM – midnight
- Early entry: Guests can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM using just their party ticket
That gives you up to 8 hours inside Magic Kingdom, so my pro tip is to skip a regular park ticket that day, rest up, and then go all-in for the party.

Costumes
One of the most fun parts of MNSSHP is dressing up. Kids and adults are encouraged to wear costumes, but Disney does have some rules:
- No full-face masks for adults (over 14).
- No real looking weapons or anything sharp (Lightsabers are ok).
- Costumes should be family-friendly (sorry, no gore-fest zombie looks).
The creativity here is next-level—you’ll see families dressed as entire Toy Story casts, Haunted Mansion brides, and even people who somehow pull off a Dole Whip look.
Every year, the creativity amazes me. You’ll see Haunted Mansion butlers, full families as Inside Out emotions, and the occasional walking turkey leg.

Trick-or-Treating
Yes, Disney hands out endless free candy during the party. Trick-or-treat stations are set up throughout the park, and Cast Members don’t mess around with stingy handfuls—you’ll walk out with a sack full of Mars, Snickers, and Skittles.
- Allergy-friendly: Request a teal treat bag to collect tokens, which you can swap at designated stations for safe snacks.
- Don’t stress about missing out—by the end of the night, your bag will be overflowing.
Boo-to-You Halloween Parade

This is my favourite parade Disney does, full stop. The Boo-to-You Halloween Parade happens twice a night and starts with the Headless Horseman galloping down Main Street. From there, you’ll see floats featuring:
- Kicks off with the Headless Horseman galloping down Main Street
- Floats include Mickey and pals in costume, Haunted Mansion grave diggers, Disney villains, and even pirates
- The soundtrack is an earworm of the highest order—you’ll be singing “Boo to You!” on the flight home
Best strategy: Watch the second parade. The first draws the bigger crowd, while the second is more relaxed.
Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks
This show is worth the price of admission alone. Hosted by Jack Skellington, it combines projections, pyrotechnics, lasers, and fireworks to tell the story of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy on a haunted Halloween adventure.
Best viewing spots: Anywhere on Main Street with a clear castle view. I recommend the hub if you want the projections in full detail.

Character Meet-and-Greets
If meeting Disney characters is your thing, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the ultimate playground. Rare meet-and-greets pop up across the park, often in special Halloween attire or with exciting new looks you won’t see any other time of year. Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland are all packed with photo-ready magic.

Attractions and Overlays
One of the best perks of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is that shorter wait times let you enjoy more attractions—and some of your favourite rides get a special Halloween twist just for the occasion. From eerie soundtracks to clever lighting and ghoulish surprises, these attractions crank up the spook factor while keeping things fun for the whole family.
Space Mountain becomes a pitch-black adventure, with haunting tunes adding just the right thrill to your ride through the stars. Over in Mad Tea Party, you’ll spin through a whimsical world lit with Halloween-inspired effects that turn the classic teacups into a delightfully eerie experience. And for some clever laughs, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor delivers comedy with a Halloween twist—perfect for giggles from kids and adults alike.

Keep in mind, entertainment, attractions, and experiences can shift a little from night to night—but no matter which rides you hit, the Halloween magic is everywhere. Shorter lines, seasonal touches, and that extra sprinkle of Disney mischief make every ride a memory-maker during this party.

Other Entertainment
One of the absolute highlights of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. The Sanderson Sisters are back and more mischievous than ever, leading a wickedly fun stage show right in front of Cinderella Castle. With Disney villains joining in, it’s a perfect mix of laughs, spells, and just the right touch of spooky for the whole family. Watching my daughter’s eyes light up as the sisters cast their magical chaos? Pure Halloween magic.
Not far away in Frontierland, the Cadaver Dans put a hilariously haunting spin on the classic Dapper Dans barbershop quartet. These “dead-pan” performers deliver spot-on harmonies and spooky songs that have become seasonal favourites: think Boo, Grim Grinning Ghosts, The Oogie Boogie Song, and even a ghostly take on Rawhide. Their clever humour, combined with perfectly timed scares, makes it impossible not to stop and listen—or sneak in a few laughs yourself. They perform throughout the night at 7:00 P.M., 7:45 P.M., 8:45 P.M., 9:35 P.M., and 10:30 P.M., giving plenty of opportunities to catch their ghoulish charm.
Over in Adventureland, the spirit of the sea comes alive with a raucous pirate band belting out swashbuckling sea shanties. With a crew of lively pirates, their performances transport you straight to the high seas, and the energy is downright contagious. They’ll be singing at 7:15 P.M., 8:15 P.M., 9:15 P.M., 10:30 P.M., and 11:30 P.M.—so keep your ears open for the next burst of nautical fun as you make your way through the park.
From wickedly fun spells to toe-tapping tunes, the entertainment at this party isn’t just background noise—it’s part of the magic that keeps Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the top of my list every year.

Dance parties
If you’re looking for the silliest, spookiest circus in all of Magic Kingdom, Storybook Circus is your go-to spot during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The atmosphere is electric, the entertainment is lively, and DJ Ringmaster is spinning beats that’ll have everyone—kids and adults alike—boogying under the Halloween lights.
For the younger partygoers, the Disney Junior Jam at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café in Tomorrowland is an absolute must. Your little ones can dance alongside some of their favourite Disney Junior friends, making memories (and maybe a few adorable TikToks) they’ll cherish forever.
And 2025 brings a brand-new reason to hit the dance floor: the ZOM-BEATZ BASH! This high-energy party, located at Rockettower Plaza Stage, celebrates Disney Channel’s ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires, letting guests show off monstrous moves and party alongside the film’s fang-tastic characters. Between all these dance floors, there’s no excuse not to move, groove, and get fully into the Halloween spirit.
Beyond the Magic Vacations Party plan (copy this into your Notes)

Final Thoughts
For me, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2025 isn’t just an event—it’s a tradition. Walking down Main Street with my daughter, trick-or-treat bag in hand, seeing Jack and Sally before catching the Boo-to-You Parade… those are the memories we’ll keep forever. Between the candy, rare characters, jaw-dropping fireworks, and Disney’s most joyful parade, this is hands-down the best seasonal event Disney offers (in my opinion). If you’re a Halloween fan, this is your night. So grab your costume, bring your sweet tooth, and prepare for a night of not-so-scary magic.
Why It’s Totally Worth It (Even if Pricier Than Ever)
- Unbeatable seasonal immersion: No other event matches the mashup of decorations, entertainment, and atmosphere. From Main Street draped in pumpkins to spooky surprises around every corner, Disney goes all out.
- Character exclusives & upgraded looks: Jack & Sally (and their refreshed faces) plus villains you won’t see anywhere else make this a photo-op dream.
- Shorter lines, fuller experience: Headliner rides are often quicker to enjoy, while parades and shows give you the ultimate night packed with entertainment.
- Your daughter’s memory-maker: Experiencing this magic with your favourite co-creator—aka your daughter—is priceless.
